Capital gain

This refers to the profit an investor makes from selling an asset such as crypto, stocks, bond, and real estate. Capital gain is when the asset's selling price is higher than the asset's cost price. For example, if an investor buys Bitcoin for $30,000 and later sells it for $40,000, the $10,000 difference represents the capital gain. Capital gains are an important measure of an investor’s return on investment.
