BitLicense

A business license issued by the New York State Department of Financial Services to firms in crypto-related activities. It regulates businesses that engage in buying, selling, or transferring digital assets, including Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The BitLicense was introduced in 2015 to provide oversight and consumer protection in the rapidly growing cryptocurrency industry.
